"Sweet and Savory Jams and Jellies" will be the topic when Margaret Jenkins, with The Ohio State University Extension Service, presents a canning class at Living Spaces Custom Designs. The class which will be presented on Wednesday, May 6th at 6:30 pm, will include information on safe home food preservation (water bath), appropriate product selection, (seasonal, use intended), Jam and jelly preservation techniques that will include sugar, low sugar, and artificial sugar, identification and use of equipment, and product use and storage. "Participants in the class will take home a fantastic canning book to use as a resource," according to Jenkins. In addition to the book, participants will be taking home a jar of jelly.
