4-H Members,
We are now accepting interest submissions for youth who would like to be considered for the county team competing in the 2026 Ohio 4-H Food Challenge.
This fast-paced and engaging contest gives teams of 2 - 4 youth the opportunity to plan, prepare, and present a dish using mystery key ingredient and a mini "grocery store." Within 40 minutes, participants will create a nutritious dish while being evaluated on teamwork, food safety, preparation skills, creativity, nutrition knowledge, and communication. The experience helps build confidence in the kitchen and develops lifelong skills in healthy cooking and meal planning.
Eligibility Requirements:
- JUNIOR Contestants: Must be at least 8 years old and in the third grade, and under 14 years of age as of January 1 of the current year.
- SENIOR Contestants: Must be at least 14 years old as of January 1 of the current year and not older than 18 as of January 1 of the current year.
Youth interested in participating must be available to attend both required practice sessions scheduled for May 31 and June 14 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the 4-H Hall. The state contest will be held on August 2.
If you are interested in being considered for the county team, please complete and submit the interest form by Friday, May 15 at 4:00 pm.
