The Clermont County 4-H Dog Program is visiting the Batavia Tractor Supply Company Store on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by to watch dog demonstrations, support the bake sale (for people and pets!), enter the costume contest with your pet, and join the pet parade. Fund raised by the bake sale will go toward purchasing new training mats and trophies for the dog program.

Fall Paper Clover Campaign at Tractor Supply Company Stores

Tractor Supply Company is proud to support 4-H with another year of the Paper Clover campaign. Visit the Batavia and Loveland stories to purchase a paper clover in $1, $5 or more amounts to support 4-H. Clubs, if you wish to display projects at the store or visit with animals, please contact the office at 732-7070 to make arrangements.

4-H Honor Club, Pin Orders & Achievement Records Due / Officer Books & Club Scrapbooks Due
All 4-H Honor Club, Pin Order forms and Achievement Records are due by 4 p.m. on October 10, 2014 to the Extension Office. Late paperwork will NOT be accepted, due to ordering and printing deadlines that must be met. In addition, Club Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, News Reporter, Health Officer, Safety Officer, Historian, Recreation Leader, and Community Service Officer) are eligible to turn in their officer books, as well as a club scrapbook for judging. Books will be judged on creativity, content, neatness and presentation/construction. Winning books will be announced at the 4-H Volunteer Dinner on Friday, November 14. Books must be current and submitted to the Extension Office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10.

2015 Jr. Fair Board Applications Due

If you are interested in an opportunity to develop leadership and organizational skills and be an active participant in planning the Clermont County Junior Fair, we encourage youth ages 14-18 (as of Jan. 1, 2014) to apply for a position on the Junior Fair Board. Applications are due to Pam Burns no later than Monday, October 13. Interviews will be held during the regular JFB meeting on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the 4-H Hall. All applicants must complete the application, submit a reference letter and attend the interview.

Clermont County Safe Communities Coalition Meeting
Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, 4470 State Route 222, Batavia
OSU Extension Clermont is the coordinator of the county's Safe Communities program. Safe Communities hosts a coalition meeting each quarter to review the county’s traffic fatality report and to plan Safe Communities programming. Programming focuses on decreasing traffic crashes and fatalities by increasing motor vehicle and traffic safety awareness through education and community partnership during national traffic safety campaigns such as “Click It or Ticket,” “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Ride Smart.”
